The Means of Salvation

The Means of Salvation from the Calamities of the Day of Resurrection and its Severe Terrors

Al-Manhaj Al-Qawīm fi At-Tassī bi Ar-Rasūl Al-Karīm by Shaykh Al-’Allāmah Zaid bin Mohammad bin Hadi Al-Madkhalī

And perhaps a person may enquire regarding the means of salvation from
those adversities, terrors and calamities? So we say – and with Allah lies all
success – salvation from those adversities, terrors and calamities in which their
occurrence on the Day of Resurrection has been established by clear
unambiguous texts, that salvation from them – O my Muslim brother – is not
that you persistently reside in a particular place, settling down to engage in
some supplications and the like, (whilst) you have secluded yourself from the
people who are falling into (severe) errors, deviations and evils, yet you have
the ability to educate them, and command them (with good) and forbid them
(from evil), yet you do not do so! Rather this is not salvation. The true salvation
has (various) means in which the Glorious Qur’an has guided us to, and the
Noble Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم called towards holding firmly onto them. And I shall clarify
these means to you in the following chapters, if Allah wills.
